CONCERTOS
Leach’s recent concerto debuts include performances with the Dallas Winds (Higdon), Eastman Wind Ensemble (Higdon), Euclid Symphony Orchestra (Séjourné), and McConnell Arts Center Chamber Orchestra (Séjourné), in addition to premiering two concertos: Dave Maric’s SPIEL commissioned by Capital University, and Durwynne Hsieh’s Prelude and Cartoon commissioned by Otterbein University. In Spring 2021, Leach will embark on another round of premieres: first up, a percussion concerto by Guggenheim Fellow and Fromm Commission recipient Adam Roberts, commissioned by the Johnstone Fund for New Music for the New Albany Symphony Orchestra; and shortly thereafter, a new chamber concerto by Garrett Schumann in collaboration with conductor Kevin Fitzgerald and ÆPEX Contemporary Performance.
The world premiere of Dave Maric’s SPIEL, a concerto for wind ensemble and electronics, commissioned for the 100th Anniversary of Capital University’s Conservatory of Music.
A collaboration with the Dallas Winds and conductor Jerry Junkin, for a performance of Jennifer Higdon’s Percussion Concerto at the Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas, Texas.

HIGDON CONCERTO

"Cameron Leach is one of the brightest new soloists on the percussion circuit. The Eastman Wind Ensemble and I were extremely inspired by his performance, and we look forward to a longstanding relationship with this exciting, rising star!”

SPIEL (PERCUSSION CONCERTO)
world premiere
Cast in four movements (Diatribe; Echo Chamber; Crestfallen; Contravention), SPIEL is an electrifying depiction of the volatility found in present day online interactions — a timely and relevant piece. Combined with a solo recital, master class, and clinic, a performance of SPIEL is a great way to finish off a multi-day residency at a school of music, particularly one centering on electroacoustic or newly commissioned music.
