Well, it finally happened: the dreaded quarter-life crisis! So naturally, I started a podcast.
All jokes aside, I’ve been thinking about starting a podcast for quite awhile, and today is the day that it finally becomes a reality. The goal of the podcast is to talk to both musicians and non-musicians, and to be as candid as possible when it comes to topics that may be hard to discuss. I’ve thought long and hard about how to have a larger and more frequent creative output, and I believe this will help satisfy that desire.
As far as naming the podcast goes, I considered many options. The biggest consideration was to choose a name that doesn’t put the show in a box, especially because I don’t want to focus solely on musicians. So, I went the simple route — The Cameron Leach Podcast — because it helps to build name recognition, and doesn’t impose a particular topic on the show as a whole. I’m open to changing this, and it might just happen at a later date, but I’ve decided not to worry too much about it now—I simply want to get it off the ground and see how it develops.
Side note: I’ve already learned so much about RSS feeds, post-production, workflow, etc., in such a short amount of time. There’s nothing like on-the-job training!
The first guest was my good friend and colleague Ivan De La Cruz. You can find that episode (and all future episodes) on YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Stitcher, and more.
