After a (somewhat) relaxing summer, I’m back at it for the 2019-2020 season. This past week, I opened my season at the 2019 Rochester Fringe Festival at the Eastman School of Music, and then traveled to Ohio University as a featured artist on the CLICK Series for electroacoustic music.

Both events were well-attended and well-received, and included the premieres of two new pieces: Decay No. 2 by Matt Curlee, and Broken Mirrors by Vera Stanojevic. Both pieces were the result of recent commissioning consortiums, and it was wonderful to give their premieres at such a prestigious venue. And, of course, it was great to be back at my alma mater!

Other pieces featured at these shows were various movements of Dave Maric’s Trilogy and Spiel, David Skidmore’s I Leave You the Real World, and the infamous Ceci n’est pas une balle by Compagnie Kahlua.

In the next few weeks, I’ll head to northern Indiana as a clinician for a PAS Marching Percussion Clinic, perform Mahler 2 with the New Albany Symphony Orchestra, premiere a new percussion concerto by Durwynne Hsieh, and give a performance-clinic at the Ohio Day of Percussion. Then, the real fun starts, with appearances in San Francisco and Nuremberg with Orphic Percussion.
